What is the entry fee for the 2012 Maple Grove Triathlon?
The following registration fees apply:
Registration through April 30, 2012: $75 (plus processing fees)
Registration May 1 – Until Filled: $90 (plus processing fees)
Will refunds be offered?
The Maple Grove Triathlon has a no-refund policy.
Once registered, can I give or sell my number to another athlete?
No. Registration is non-transferrable.

What course options will be offered?
The Maple Grove Triathlon will include individual Sprint and Olympic events and welcomes back the TriStar111. Specific distances include:

Where can I pick-up my race packet?
Pre-race packet pick-up is available under the Race Headquaters tent in Weaver Lake Park from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, August 24.
Day-of (Saturday, August 25) packet pick-up will also be available from 5:00 AM – 6:45 AM at Race Headquarters located at the top of the hill adjacent to the playground.
What do I need to bring to packet pick-up?
All registered athletes are required to present a current photo ID (driver’s license, or passport). USA Triathlon (USAT) annual members must also show their current USAT member card.
Can a friend or family member pick-up my race packet?
All registered athletes are required to pick-up their own packet – no exceptions. We have made it easy by offering a pre-race and day-of packet pick-up for your convenience.
Is there a benefit to attending the pre-race packet pick-up?
The benefit to picking up your packet on Friday, August 24 is to confirm all event details early to aid in your final event preparations. Pre-race packet pick-up is suggested especially for newer triathletes to ensure your comfort with the event and allows the opportunity to ask questions without the rush of race day.
Is there a participant drop-off area?
Yes. The Maple Grove Triathlon offers an easy-access participant drop-off. Please view the Event Schedule for more details and directions to the drop-off area.
Where can I park while attending the Maple Grove Triathlon?
Two parking lots are reserved for participant and spectator use:

Please note that there will be NO residential parking allowed.
When I arrive to Weaver Lake Park where do I go?
Volunteers will be stationed at each parking lot and park entrance to offer assistance. Participants should visit Race Headquarters for packet pick-up (if not already picked-up) and body marking. Spectators may enjoy the event from any of the designated spectator areas.
When will the transition area open and close?
The transition area will open promptly at 5:00 AM and close at 7:00 AM. Beginning at 6:45 AM, the transition area will begin closing in preparation for the race. We ask for your cooperation in clearing the transition area by 7:00 AM to ensure a prompt race start.
Who will be allowed in the transition area?
Registered participants, race officials and select volunteers only will be allowed into the transition area. Friends and family members may not enter the transition area but will have a great view from the spectator area.
Will there be an Elite wave?
Yes. During registration, please indicate you'd like to be included in this wave. Please note that Elites are not eligible for age group awards.
How will I know the water temperature on race day?
Ruling on race-day water temperature will be announced at 7:00 AM at the mandatory pre-race meeting and also posted at the transition area entrance. According to the established USA Triathlon rules, wetsuits are permitted if the water temperature is 78 degrees or below. If the water temperature is 79-83 degrees, you may wear a wetsuit, but are ineligible for age group awards. Wetsuits are not permitted if the water temperature is 84 degrees or higher.
Am I allowed to ask for lifeguard assistance during my swim?
To ensure your safety during the swim course, you may rest upon lifeguard boats, or floatable devices. Note that if using these items to move forward along the course, you will be disqualified.
Are there any restrictions on the type of bike I can use during the bike course?
All non-motorized bikes will be allowed including triathlon, road, mountain, hybrid/city bikes, etc.
What happens if I lose my timing chip?
Participants that lose their timing chip will be charged a $30 fee for the equipment to be replaced. Please locate a race official or a member of the Pickle Event's timing staff to get a new device prior to race start.
Where can lost and found items be dropped off or picked up?
Lost and found items will be housed at Race Headquarters. After the event, please email us to claim any items left behind.
Are pets allowed at the event?
Pets should not be brought to the event as they may be a hazard to participating triathletes.
