Beyond the rich business culture, Maple Grove focuses on cultivating a meaningful community culture and is home to numerous local organizations that work with their respective groups to build a strong community. The Maple Grove Community Organization (MGCO) specifically unites civic organizations, businesses, and volunteers to host Maple Grove’s largest events including the Pierre Bottineau Days Parade, Maple Grove Days and many holiday-related events to name a few. Over 30,000 people attend Maple Grove Days annually and look forward to this community tradition.
Also important to Maple Grove is contributing to green efforts. The second city in Minnesota to adopt a new sort-free recycle program, Maple Grove has already increased resident recycling by 20% during the first half of 2009 (60% in 2008 vs. 80% in 2009) resulting in 355 additional tons of recycled items from February – June alone. Additionally, Maple Grove is home to Great River Energy, the second largest wholesale electric power supplier. Continued efforts to promote green missions will continue to be an important focus for the city.
We look forward to hosting you in Maple Grove and wish you a very pleasant experience in our community!
